Red Canyon

Red Canyon

October 2009

My old friend Jerry used to complain, quite rightly, about orchestral musicians who would “preview” by rehearsing recognisable sections of the music they were about to play in the minutes before a concert starts. The audience doesn’t want the highlight of the evening diminished by hearing the purple passages too soon and out of context.

Red Canyon is, in a sense, the equivalent of those musicians, giving travellers heading east on Scenic Byway 12 a preview of Bryce Canyon National Park. However, it’s hard to complain – it has it’s own beauty, particularly in the dying moments of twilight.
