Serendipity

This waterfall is typically unremarkable. It sits just a few feet upstream from a footbridge close to a busy trail head in Rocky Mountain National Park.
On this occasion however, I happened to glance to my left as crossing the bridge on the way back from a hike up to Loch Vale and saw that the falls were freezing over, with only the smallest of gaps remaining between the ice that was stretching out from each bank.
