As mentioned in the last post, I tried to make some identifications of the nudibranchs in included in the video using Debelius’ book (primarily). One species I couldn’t find in there was the first shown in the video. The identification was made (tentatively) from a small photo in Allen and Steene.
I posted a message to the marvellous Sea Slug Forum to double check the identification as _Chromodoris geometrica_…

Identifications were made using Debelius and Allen and Steene – they might well be wrong – if so, please let me know! Some of the Chromodoris species are hard to tell apart…

This video shows a collection of nudibranchs filmed on trips to Raja Ampat and Wakatobi in 2005 and 2006. None of the species are particularly rare, so far as I know. Identifications are my own (with the help of Bill Rudman over at the Sea Slug Forum to confirm the first subject).

When I first started editing video last year, I started out borrowing Alice’s Mac Powerbook 12”. We bought a copy of Final Cut Express and started reading.
The need for some sort of external hard drive quickly became apparent. Having read the dire warnings against using bus-powered drives, we started out with a LaCie 200GB d2 drive. This unit came with an external power supply and has performed flawlessly.
